Abstract

O presente trabalho busca perceber as representações acerca da temática indígena a partir do livro didático de História. Nosso objetivo é entender qual é o tipo de conhecimento que a escola reproduz sobre os indígenas e, a partir disso, pontuar os elementos que colaboram para uma visão típica sobre os nativos. Dentro de uma breve discussão sobre o currículo de história, livro didático e representações sobre os indígenas, veremos como a invisibilidade do “índio” é reforçada por uma narrativa tradicional e ainda hegemônica nos livros escolares.
