CHANGE IN BIOPHYSICAL PARAMETER IN THE SUPPLIER OF ECOSYSTEM SUPPORT SERVICES: APP AND RL IN NORTH MATO-GROSSENSE
Keywords:
Amazon rainforest, Rural Environmental Registry, NDVIAbstract
The Amazon Forest supports natural resources essential for life, and its conservation is necessary to maintain biodiversity and ecosystem services. Legal Reserve Areas and Permanent Preservation Areas play an important role in preserving biodiversity and are providers of supporting ecosystem services, such as maintaining the supply of drinking water, wood and habitat for a diversity of fauna and flora. However, the Amazon Forest has been largely devastated, mainly by deforestation for the advancement of agriculture. This biome is even more harmed in states like Mato Grosso. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI) in the protected vegetation area (Legal Reserve/RL and Permanent Preservation Area/APP), providers of supporting ecosystem services, on private property registered with the Rural Environmental Registry (CAR) in the municipalities of Sinop and Alta Floresta (MT) from 1990 to 2020, those with a high potential for deforestation in the state. To carry out this work, Landsat satellite images were used to extract the NDVI index in the years 1990, 2000, 2010 and 2020. The results of the analyzes showed that there was lower reflectance in the biomass, with NDVI of 0.2 to 0.3, in 2020 compared to previous years, with NDVI reflectance above 0.4 to 0.8 in both municipalities aforementioned. In Sinop and Alta Floresta, the need to recover the legal reserve area and also the riparian forest.
