Abstract

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is highly prevalent both in Brazil and in many parts of the world. It is a condition that affects a growing number of individuals and demands significant attention from the medical and scientific community. This experience report aims to describe the experiences of the participants of the UniTEA/UECE extension project in an educational action to commemorate World Autism Day for members of the Family Ministry in the city of Fortaleza. This is a descriptive and qualitative report of the perceptions of the extension workers. This study is a descriptive and qualitative report, providing an in-depth understanding of their experiences and perspectives in the context analyzed. At the meeting, a lecture was given on Autism Spectrum Disorder and an experience report from a mother of a child with ASD. The topic was well received and generated debate and clarification on the subject.
