Abstract

This study adopts a qualitative approach with an exploratory purpose to investigate applications that transcribe speech. With the advancement of Artificial Intelligence, research highlights the importance of these applications in the contemporary context. From the perspective of Scientific Literacy, using a search on the internet and in application stores, seven applications were identified, which were analyzed with the help of a knowledgeable speaker. The research aims to evaluate the functionality of these applications available on the market, establishing connections with communication accessibility. The central objective is to test the effectiveness of applications for use by different audiences, not just deaf people, with the aim of ensuring active participation in live activities. The analysis of these applications seeks to contribute to the inclusion and effective participation of subjects, and as a result, it was possible to conclude that none of the applications analyzed proved to be fully effective in promoting communication accessibility.
