Focus and Scope

The Geográfica Acadêmica is an open journal about Geography and correlated sciences, published by Laboratory of Landscape Meltrics (Departament of Geography of Universidade Federal de Roraima - UFRR / Brasil).

This journal have a biannual issues (two numbers by year, Jun/Jul. and Dec/Jan.), and the articles are reviewed by peers blind.

This journal does not charge fees, is a open journal. It allowed a full or partial copy of the articles published in the RGA, but the source must be quoted.

We do not accept articles that have been published in other journal or are being analyzed by other journals.

The authors have no copyright on the articles published in the RGA, which are copyright of RGA, not being possible to be published in other journals or books in full text.

The authors, as well as indexers and other databases, are free to collect, store and disseminate the content of the Revista Geográfica Acadêmica in online media, provided that the source of the Revista Geográfica Acadêmica is duly cited, which holds copyright.

Ethics Policy

Revista Geográfica Acadêmica is committed to ethical standards at all stages of its publication, and follows the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics – COPE as described in its policy guide for publications in COPE scientific journals (Guidelines formal COPE policy) . Thus, editors, dossier organizers, reviewers and authors are guided on issues such as originality, plagiarism, duplicate work, blind peer review process, conflicts of interest, confidentiality, copyright, among others.

Free Access Policy

This journal offers immediate free access to its content, following the principle that making scientific knowledge freely available to the public provides greater worldwide democratization of knowledge.

The authors, as well as the indexers and other databases, are free to collect, store and disseminate the content of the Revista Geográfica Acadómica in online media, provided that the source of the Revista Geográfica Acadómica is duly cited, which holds copyright.

Peer Review Policy

This journal is open, does not charge any fee for submission or acquisition of the material published here, the material published here can be copied in whole or in part as long as the source of the journal and the authors is mentioned.

It is the sole responsibility of the author(s) for the content of the article published in the Revista Geográfica Acadêmica. Published articles are the copyright of RGA, and cannot be published in other journals (see the Free Access Policy item above).

Manuscripts are peer-reviewed blindly and authors are not identified. Guidelines for authors can be found at "Guidelines for authors". The opinion analysis time is around 4 months. Authors must strictly follow the publication guidelines, available in "Guidelines for Authors".

The RGA does not accept articles published in other media or that are in the process of being analyzed in other publications. Manuscripts must be unpublished, derived from research and follow the ethics policy of the journal described (as described above in the item "Ethics Policy").

The file to be analyzed will be sent to two consultants relevant to the theme of the manuscript, which will be anonymous (blind peer review). The evaluation process takes an average 4 months. In case of refusal by the consultant to accept the manuscript, it will be sent to a third party to give the final opinion.

Correction suggestions will be sent directly as part of the text, in ".doc" format. After this process, the authors will be notified of the opinion with the necessary corrections, in cases of a second round of evaluation, if the evaluators deem it necessary.

After the corrections made by the author, the text must be sent through the Journal's system for the final opinion and editing process, if it has been accepted for publication.

In case of rejection, the submission will be archived, and the author will be able to resubmit the text through a new submission process.

Conflicts of Interest Policy

In the case of the possibility of conflict of interest, either on the part of the authors or reviewers, this must be notified to the editor of the RGA.

Authors who submit their manuscript must notify the editor in the submission process of any conflict of interest related to their research. With regard to financial support or other forms of connections, they must be acknowledged by the authors in their manuscript.

Reviewers must inform the editor of any type of conflict of interest related to their manuscript review process. The evaluator, whenever applicable, must declare himself unqualified to evaluate the manuscript in case of a possible conflict of interest.
