Resumo

A geografia do que acontece é uma expressão ligada aos trabalhos associados às Teorias não-representacionais (TNR), acrônimo cunhado por Nigel Thrift em meados da década de 1990 e que comumente passou a ser compreendido como partícipe da geografia mais-que-representacional. A expressão “geografia do que acontece” associa-se à transcendência representacional e a busca por narrar o espaço-tempo por meio da persecução cotidiana de atores envolvidos em redes heterogêneas. O artigo em questão, essencialmente epistemológico, visa elucidar a geografia do que acontece, pouco explorada em trabalhos geográficos no Brasil, apontando o seu arcabouço teórico, expondo os seus pressupostos e avaliando criticamente suas potencialidades e desafios.

Biografia do Autor

Leonardo Luiz Silveira da Silva, Professor Doutor do Instituto Federal do Norte de Minas Gerais (IFNMG), Campus Salinas.

Graduado em Geografia (2002) pela Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (UFMG) e especializado (lato sensu) em Gestão de Políticas Sociais (2006) pela Pontifícia Universidade Católica (PUC-MG). Mestre em Relações Internacionais pela PUC-MG (2011) e Doutor em Geografia - Tratamento da Informação Espacial (2016) pela PUC-MG. Concluiu estágio Pós-Doutoral (2018-2019) no departamento de Geografia da PUC-MG, sob supervisão do Professor Dr. Alexandre Magno Alves Diniz. Seus temas de interesse estão ligados à Geopolítica, à Epistemologia da Geografia, à Geografia Cultural e aos Estudos Regionais, com ênfase nos estudos de fronteiras. Foi professor da rede particular de ensino de Belo Horizonte entre 2003 e 2016. Atualmente é professor do Instituto Federal do Norte de Minas Gerais (IFNMG), Campus Salinas
