The mathematical model for a sphere that rolls on an inclined plane takes into account that the torque responsible for the rotation of this sphere comes from the static friction force between the sphere and the surface of the plane. However, this modeling fails to explain why rolling bodies stop, because, when introducing a friction force to brake the sphere, a torque is also introduced that would increase the angular velocity of that sphere. Therefore, the objective of this work is to experimentally investigate the limits of modeling spheres moving on inclined planes. The scope of each model is investigated, as well as a modeling proposal is inserted in an attempt to improve the experimental investigation. It was observed that each model better describes the phenomenon in regions of different validity in relation to the angles used.
