The project investigated the partial replacement of Portland Cement CP IV – 32 RS with glass waste from cutting, in combination with a plasticizing additive. Considering that cement production is one of the main sources of carbon dioxide (CO₂) emissions, a reduction in the amount of cement used would result in a decrease in CO₂ emissions, contributing to the mitigation of the greenhouse effect. The specific objective of this work was to analyze the resistance to simple compression in structural concrete blocks, using 0%, 3%, 5% and 7% of glass powder and 152 ml of plasticizing additive in each mixture. The results were promising, showing averages of 30.23 MPa and 32.23 MPa.
