Abstract

Abstract

The growing number of abandoned domestic animals represents a significant challenge for society, particularly regarding their protection, care, and responsible adoption. Many institutions, especially animal shelters and NGOs, face considerable difficulties in managing adoption processes and connecting adopters with animals, which results in vulnerable animals remaining at risk. In this context, AbraçoPet emerges as a digital solution that seeks to connect people with vulnerable animals from NGOs through user-friendly digital methods, centralizing information and offering sponsorship alternatives that support animals without requiring adoption. The purpose of this article is to present a software system that streamlines and facilitates the process of finding a new home for pets, ensuring compatibility between the animal and the adopter by employing intelligent algorithms that effectively match user profiles and preferences. The results of the analysis demonstrated that the source code exhibited excellent performance, achieving the highest rating in the Codacy tool, with a density of only 0.682 issues per kLoC, with the main improvement opportunities related to cyclomatic complexity and code duplication. In the tests conducted using BrowserStack, a high level of efficiency was observed in resource management, with an average CPU usage of 0.47% and memory stabilized between 179 and 261 MB, with no evidence of leaks. The main critical factor identified was the instability in the frame rate per second (24–40 FPS), which compromises the interface fluidity.
