Analysis of deforestation and the environmental regulations: reflections for the state of Roraima at the beginning of the XXI century

Abstract

This article aims to describe and discuss the deforestation and its implications in the State of Roraima, in the light of current environmental legislation reflecting on the issues related to economic development and the preservation of natural resources. In this sense, seeks to analyze the level of deforestation per Km2 in the State of Roraima in the period from 2000 to 2006, in addition to designing the deforestation for the years 2007 to 2011. Using as a tool the statistical method and descriptive of linear regression, and submit the current environmental legislation, and developed and carried out a survey of the type quantitative explanatory in that concern the statistical information. As discussion of the approach was used techniques of survey data from the literature survey. The results show that the state of Roraima grew extension of deforested area equivalent to 2743.6 km2 for the period 2000 to 2006.
