Abstract

The Cooperative solid waste offer alternatives to help solve environmental problems, reducing the number of solid waste in the environment we live in and designating the best odds of life for people who are looking for work in this activity by finding a means of survival. This study aims at analyzing the Cooperative Unirenda strategically, identifying internal features, the external variables and analyzing internal and external aspects relating to the definition of operational strategies. With respect to the methodological procedures, the research was characterized as the object of a search field, a descriptive, using qualitative analysis. From the results, we highlight strengths and strategic location, mix of recyclable materials, unique partnership with public agencies. The weaknesses are the lack of financial resources (capital) and motivation of the cooperative. A little promotion of recycling by the city, breach of agreements, constitute threats. Among the opportunities identified were few competitors in the region and resumption of selective collection by the municipality.
