Abstract

In the corporate governance context, also are the foundations to support universities and its respective board of trustees, supposed responsible by the practices of this conception. With it, this present research looked for the analysis of the good practices of corporate governance in this third section organization, in the view of the mentors, following the main principles of the Brazilian Institute of Corporate Governance. For this study, a literature review and a case analysis were made in the Support, Study and Research Foundation of Uberlândia, in the state of Minas Gerais, in the second half of the 2012 year. The method consisted in the application of questionnaires on the board of trustees of the foundation, involving corporate governance items. The results were showed through text, chart and graphics. In the final, was possible to associate the corporate governance principles with the practices of the board, evidencing that this one, in the most aspects and partially, complies with its function of corporate governance disseminator on a section a little studied by the society yet.
