DO RIO AO TRAÇADO URBANO, E NOVAMENTE AO RIO (alguns apontamentos para pensar a cidade de Boa Vista/RR)

Resumo

O presente artigo busca refletir sobre as transformações na organização espacial da cidade de Boa Vista, desde sua gênese até o presente momento. Sendo assim, o crescimento populacional, o surgimento de bairros, a carência infra-estrutural de espaços da cidade e as mudanças na relação cidade-rio são alguns dos temas abordados no paper em tela. Estabelecemos três momentos, distintos e articulados, atrelados a organização espacial da cidade de Boa Vista, a saber: o primeiro momento associado a gênese da cidade – sendo marcado por fortes relações entre a cidade e o rio Branco; a segunda marcada pelo crescimento da cidade a partir do traçado urbano “de costas para o rio” e; o terceiro registrado a partir do final da década de 1990, quando o rio Branco volta a desempenhar importante papel influenciador na dinâmica organizacional e, principalmente, simbólica da cidade boavistense. ABSTRACT The present article searchs the reflection about the changes in the spacial organization of Boa Vista city, since the beginning until now. So, the populacional growth, districts rising, the infra-structural need of spaces in the city and the changes in relation city-river are some themes that is discussed in this text. We stablished three moments, different and articulates ones, uned to the special organization of Boa Vista city, knowing: the first moment associated to the city beginning – being marked by strong relations between the city and the Branco river; the second marked by the growing of the city starting the urban design “back onto the river” and, the third registrated started in the end of 1990 decade, when the Branco river come back to perform an important paper influencing in the organizational dynamism and, mainly, as a symbol of Boa Vista city.
