BREVES CONSIDERACÕES SOBRE OS PROBLEMAS SOCIOAMBIENTAIS NA BR-174: RORAINÓPOLIS, CARACARAÍ, IRACEMA, MUCAJAÍ E BOA VISTA (ESTADO DE RORAIMA) (Brief considerations on socio-environmental issues along the BR-174 highway: Rorainópolis, Caracaraí...)

Resumo

O objetivo deste artigo é caracterizar os impactos ambientais nas cidades roraimenses localizadas nas margens da rodovia federal BR-174, no trecho compreendido entre Manaus (AM) e Boa Vista (RR). Para isso, buscou-se observar o nível de arborização; identificar a existência de saneamento básico; caracterizar os canais urbanos; e verificar a existência de lixo intraurbano e a sua relação com a saúde averiguando se o depósito de lixo apresenta algum risco para a população local. Os resultados permitem afirmar que as cidades pequenas do interior do Estado, como Rorainópolis, Caracaraí, Mucajaí e Iracema apresentam similaridades no que concerne aos problemas ambientais, como no caso dos depósitos de resíduos sólidos, que, em geral, estão localizados nos arredores do perímetro urbano constituindo-se verdadeiros lixões a céu aberto. Quanto à arborização intraurbana, verificou-se que as espécies existentes localizam-se, quase sempre, no interior das residências, revelando, portanto, que essas foram plantadas e mantidas por livre iniciativa de moradores. Apesar disso, as cidades apresentam razoável nível de arborização e, em áreas e/ou avenidas centrais, identificou-se a presença de árvores em canteiros centrais plantados pelo poder público municipal. ABSTRACT The objective of this study is characterize the environmental impacts on the cities of the state of Roraima, localized in the margin of federal highway BR-174, in the patch between Manaus (AM) and Boa Vista (RR). To this, it was observed the level of afforestation, identify the existence of basic sanitation, characterize the urban channels, check the existence of intra-urban garbage and the relation with the local health, verifying if there is the garbage deposit shows any danger for the local population. This results allows affirm that the smaller cities in the state such as Rorainópolis, Caracaraí, Mucajaí and Iracema show some similarity when the subject is environmental problems, like the municipal garbage deposit, because in this cities they are localize in the periphery, and this deposit look like junkyard without any concerns of public power. When the theme is the afforestation was detected that the species in the city was confined in the house`s yard, revealing that this trees was planted by the habitants. Despise this fact the cities has a regular level of afforestation, and, in areas or avenues was detect trees in the central beds planted by the municipal authority.
