Resumo

O presente artigo discute as transformações no processo de formação territorial no estado do Pará, desde sua ocupação inicial até a criação dos municípios. A ocupação militar, as missões religiosas, o extrativismo da borracha e a fragmentação da malha municipal são alguns dos temas discutidos no estudo. Palavras-chave: formação territorial, espaço paraense, criação de municípios. ABSTRACT The present article discuss the changes in the process of territorial formation in the state of Pará space, since its inicial occupation until the creation of the communities. The military occupation, the acts of the religious missions, the rubber extrativism and the fragmentation of the municipal mesh are some themes discussed in the study.
